Westway Machinery, Mississauga, ON, has been named the exclusive sales representative for Eastern Canada for Plasma Automation Inc. and sister company Vicon Machinery LLC, based in Bohemia, NY.

Westway will sell the company’s Vicon ines of high precision plasma cutting systems, HVAC plasma liner cutting systems, coil duct processing lines and roll forming equipment.

Westway Machinery specializes in metal forming machinery used in the fabrication, stamping, and HVAC sheet metal industries. The fabrication equipment distributor maintains a large inventory of equipment at its Mississauga location, including hydraulic ironworkers, presses, press brakes, and plate shears.

I went to visit menswear designer Stefán Orschel-Read at his studio to see his new collection, and we were also casting models for his SS 2011 show. His new collection is so beautiful: he uses Sea Island cotton, dupion silk, bamboo, iridescent tonic and cashmere British tailoring wools. I can’t really say more than that, but I’m so excited about styling his show!

I really appreciate that London has a menswear day during Fashion Week. London has such an amazing history of men’s tailoring and men’s fashion that if you have a chance to see any of the shows you really should!

Unedited VGA quality video taken from an actual Cinematronics machine, since YouTube seemed to be lacking one. There is definitely a difference with MAME in how the game plays and sounds. I am pretty rusty here… my playing falls apart around 18K and again at 24K. Some dumb mistakes! I should really put some effort into it and try to master it, having it at home. I think my best score is around 35K. Not bad, but I remember kids playing Star Castle so long that the game pace would slow down again. They would then just walk away bored, so I could play it for free with all those extra ships. =) UPDATE: It appears that the machine has the earlier and probably easier romset. I have done some very basic sewing in the past, but was asked to create some costume items for my husband, and decided that I needed something better than my little “Tiny Tailor” which is good for hemming cuffs and mending seams. I spent a week looking at various reviews and information, and while I was originally looking at the ‘little brother’ to this machine, the Brother 210-PRW, the 420 had such glowing reviews that I was truly torn.

I knew I wanted to invest in a good machine that was going to last me for a long while, especially if I really started getting into sewing, and so with my husband’s blessing, I took the plunge and paid $80 more for the 420. I needed it right away, and so as an Amazon Prime customer, I paid the extra $4 to get one day shipping. There was a notice that it might take an extra day or two processing, but after placing the order before noon on a Friday, I got a shipment notice that very afternoon, and FedEx brought it to my door a bit before 11 the following Monday (today).

After taking some time to read through the first couple sections of the manual, I was able to unpack the machine, plug it in, fill a bobbin with thread, load it, and thread the machine to start sewing.
